World Opera Day is celebrated every year on
October 25th.
For the past 10 years, The Erwin H. Johnson Memorial Fund, Inc. has been the coordinators and promoters of World Opera Day and Celebrate National Opera Week in Buffalo/Niagara. We are proud to have received numerous proclamations from local and state government officials.
To kick off the celebration, each year, the Peace Bridge and/or Niagara Falls are lit in burgundy and gold,
to represent stage curtains found in opera houses globally.
